Booking for walks is easy, however we recommend booking as soon as possible to make sure you get onto the walk. Some walks are extremely popular and sell out weeks before the event.
Unless a Saturday ramble involves a coach you do not need to book, just turn up at the appointed meeting place as shown in the programme.
For a coach ramble you need to make an advance booking for the coach with the Saturday Secretary, Linda Wilson, on 07786 748892. The current fee for these trips is £11 payable on the coach. Cheques to be made payable to Liverpool HF Ramblers.
All Sunday walks require booking, as these are all coach based and book up quite quickly. The cost is £13.00 for each trip and require you to book through the Sunday Secretary, Hilda Kiernan on 0151 651 2939 or 07976 630 903. (Many people book on the Sunday coach for walks in later weeks.) We would welcome anyone coming on a couple of “taster” walks, without obligation, before being committed to seeking formal membership. For walk destinations north of the river the Sunday coach starts at Bebington at 8.00am and then picks up at Liverpool Victoria Street at 8.30am. For walk destinations south of the river the coach starts at Liverpool Victoria Street at 8.30am and then picks up at 8.50am at Bebington. There are additional pick-up points en route (please click on the banner below). Although we sometimes stop at a cafe for a drink it can’t be guaranteed so we carry sandwiches/food and drink for the 12 hours.
From people who want to go to the tops of the hills to people who are happy to stay at a lower level, we try to cater for all fitness levels. Sunday walks are arranged with a choice of three walks:
Grade ‘A’ [Strenuous]. These walks are for experienced walkers who are capable of walking 12 to 16 miles at a good pace with 2,000 to around 3,500ft or more of ascent over the entire walk.
Grade ‘B’ [Moderate]. This grade of walk requires a good level of fitness and the ability to walk 10 to 12 miles with between 1,200 and 2,000ft of ascent over the whole walk.
Grade ‘C’ [Leisurely]. Gentler walks of upto 7 miles with, usually, very little climbing. These walks are ideal for new members with little or no hill walking experience and for children. They are also great for experienced walkers who just want a less energetic walk.
